How it’s built
On a 4 × 4 grid, the center takes the middle 2 × 2 cells, the geese take the sides and the corners are plain squares.
For an 8 in finished block: a 4½ in center square, four 2½ in corner squares, and four geese of 2 × 4 in finished size.
Quiltkit cuts each goose the “stitch and flip” way: one rectangle and two squares, instead of three triangles.
Sewing tips
- For each goose, place a sky square on one end of the rectangle, sew on the diagonal, trim ¼ in from the seam, press, repeat on the other end.
- Check that each goose measures 2½ × 4½ in before assembling the block.
