How it’s built
A nine-patch: four half-square triangle corners, four side units of two strips each, and a plain center.
With only two fabrics, it reads clearly even from far away, which makes it a great block for beginners.
Sewing tips
- Make the half-square triangles from squares cut ⅞ in larger than the finished unit.
- Sew the side strips as one long strip set, then cut it into units.
